Ask the allergist: Questions on red meat allergy

Red meat allergy comes from a tick bite and is on the rise in Canada.

– What are the signs and symptoms?

– If you have food allergy already how do you know if you are reacting to the meat and not something that you are already allergic to through cross-contamination, etc?

– How is it diagnosed?

– Are there treatments?

– Will you be allergic forever, or does it resolve itself?

Do you have a food allergy-related question you’d like to ask an allergist in the months to come? If so, send it along to us at info@foodallergycanada.ca
