Creating a better future webinar series: Future outlook of therapies with Dr. Cecilia Berin

  • What is the webinar about: The future outlook of therapies that are under study beyond immunotherapy. Dr. Berin will provide her expert insight on current food allergy research and the science behind it.
  • Who is presenting: Dr. Cecilia Berin who is a Professor of Pediatrics and the Deputy Director of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute, her research is focused on understanding immune mechanisms of allergy and tolerance to foods.
  • When is the webinar: Wednesday, April 15, 2020 from 12 pm-1 pm EDT.
  • Who should attend: Anyone interested in learning more about food allergy.

Allergy Pals/Allies online mentorship program

Allergy Pals and Allies registration now open

Registration is now open for the free 8-week online mentorship program for kids 7-15-years-old. The Spring session is taking place from April 18 to June 6, 2020. This is a perfect time for kids to connect with others virtually and learn how to more confidently manage their food allergy at the same time!

By participating in the program kids will:

  • Build a support network by connecting with other children who have food allergy
  • Learn strategies for managing their food allergy
  • Feel more confident managing their food allergy

The shows are geared towards kids ranging from ages 3-14 and are free, engaging and educational for kids to watch from home!

Thursday, April 9: Food Allergy Storyteller Series with Kyle Dine – Allergy Attitude (10 am EDT)

In this 20 minute episode, Kyle will give the background on 3 songs related to maintaining a positive attitude while managing food allergy. His personal stories will provide insight into the thoughts and emotions he has experienced growing up with multiple food allergies. Your child will likely relate to some of the situations Kyle describes, and will be inspired by his empowering messages.

The Storyteller Series is geared toward kids ages 5-14.

Friday, April 17: Food Allergy Storyteller Series with Kyle Dine – Allergy Safety (10 am EDT)

For kids aged 5-14

In this 20 minute episode, Kyle will give the background on 3 songs related to managing food allergy safely. His personal stories will provide insight into the key safety measures that kids need to hear and be reminded of. Your child will likely relate to some of the situations Kyle describes, and will be inspired by his empowering messages.

Tuesday, April 21: Food Allergy Education Show (9 am EDT)

For kids aged 3-10

This virtual show will be on allergy education and will feature songs, puppets and games to keep kids engaged throughout the live stream. Plus, Kyle’s 4-year-old daughter Zora will be joining him as a special assistant, and will be leading the “hand washing” song.

What kids will learn:

  • Information about the common allergens
  • Signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction
  • What is medical identification
  • Allergic reactions and treatment with epinephrine
  • Washing hands
  • Not sharing food
  • Looking on the bright side and being empowered over food allergy

Friday, April 24 – Food Allergy Storyteller Series with Kyle Dine – Allergy Empowerment (10 am EDT)

For kids aged 5-14

In this 20 minute episode, Kyle will give the background on 3 songs related to becoming empowered over one’s food allergy. His personal stories will provide insight into the thoughts and emotions he has experienced growing up with multiple food allergies. Your child will likely relate to some of the situations Kyle describes, and will be inspired by his empowering messages.


Additional shows by Kyle Dine – the following shows are held each week on Kyle’s channels

Staying Safe, Staying Positive virtual show: Wednesdays at 9 am – 9:30 am EDT

This virtual show will help kids keep a healthy body and mind during COVID-19. Together with his 4-year-old daughter, Kyle will be using music, puppets and interactive games to promote ways to stay positive with fun ways to make the most of the current situation.

What kids will take away from the show:

  • It’s okay to feel down during tough times
  • What are the things that make us feel better?
  • The importance of connecting with others
  • Using “home time” to your advantage
  • Reminders and strategies for current safety tips

Small group webinar: Managing food allergy and anaphylaxis

Do you have questions on managing food allergy and anaphylaxis? Get your questions answered while connecting with others who can relate, right from your own home! Attend one of our free 90-minute interactive webinars led by a trained parent mentor. You’ll learn fundamental information about daily management and living confidently with food allergy and anaphylaxis.

These sessions are geared towards parents of children who have been recently diagnosed with a food allergy; however, anyone looking to learn more about food allergy is welcome to attend.
