A Message from Food Allergy Canada:
Join us as we move forward to help create safer environments for students – #BePrepared
As every parent knows, the life of a child is full of firsts: first steps, first time riding a bike, first day of school, first kiss. And, for those with food allergies other firsts include: the first reaction, first diagnosis, first auto-injector prescription, and, of course, some firsts every parent hopes to avoid, such as the first trip to the Emergency Department.
Another first for many teenagers is the big step of going to college or university. For those with food allergies, this can often be the first time they will fully manage their allergy on their own.
Be prepared for the next step. Help us ensure the transition to post-secondary school is a positive one. Food Allergy Canada is currently developing guidelines – the first of its kind in Canada for managing food allergies in post-secondary institutions. This new resource is aimed at helping universities and colleges develop and implement policies to support students with food allergies.
Now is your chance to make a difference.
We all know food-related allergic reactions can happen anywhere. Food Allergy Canada provides invaluable support and resources to families and children with severe allergies and has improved anaphylaxis management policies and practices in school environments across the country. Developing guidelines for the post-secondary market is a natural next step.
Help us with our ongoing effort to make life safer for people with food allergies by making food allergy management a priority in our post-secondary institutions.
With the new year fast approaching, make your donation by December 31st to receive a year-end tax receipt.
Thank you for your support!
Wishing you Happy Holidays,
