Anaphylaxis Canada is proud to announce the recent launch of two new programs for the foodservice industry, as well as a leadership award for our foodservice consultant, Marilyn Allen.
We recognize that allergic consumers find it challenging when they are dining out and as such, we have worked with key industry organizations to develop the following resources for restaurant and foodservice staff relating to allergen management.
- Allergen Training Basic for the Foodservice & Food Retail Industry- an educational course for foodservice staff, developed in collaboration with Traincan Inc., a leading food safety training company. The course provides staff with the information they need to know to safely manage allergens in their work environment. - Food Allergies: A guide for restaurants- an informational booklet for restaurant staff with tips on managing food allergies and consumer concerns. We developed this guide in collaboration with The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservice Association (CRFA) which has more than 30,000 members and the printing was supported by EpiPen®. Marilyn Allen, a long time consultant and co-founder of one of the organizations which merged to form Anaphylaxis Canada, was recently honoured by the Guelph Food Technology Centre, as the first recipient of their Food Safety Leadership Award. The award recognizes Marilyn’s drive for food safety excellence. Marilyn has been instrumental in the development of our foodservice programs and was
co-author for both programs mentioned above.
Congratulations Marilyn on this much deserved award and recognition of your commitment to helping protect allergic consumers.
