Mythbuster: Are epinephrine auto-injectors meant to be stored at room temperature?

December 6, 2024

FACT: Yes, it’s recommended to keep epinephrine auto-injectors at room temperature as the medication can lose its effectiveness when stored in extreme heat or cold. Do not leave an auto-injector in a car’s glove box or in the fridge/freezer where it can get too hot or too cold.

In cold weather, carry your auto-injector inside a coat pocket, and in hot weather, keep it in the shade.
